GST-linked emission mapping
Our algorithm reads GST transaction data to estimate the carbon footprint of industries across every sector, so a state or buyer can see where emissions concentrate before a single audit.
CarbonCred builds the full chain from policy to revenue for states, utilities and industry: we measure emissions, deliver reductions, get them verified, issue credits and take them to India's carbon market.
A carbon credit is a certificate for one tonne of carbon dioxide-equivalent (tCO₂e) that was kept out of the atmosphere or taken out of it. It is created when an independent verifier confirms the cut against a baseline, and it is used up for good when its owner retires it.
Every standard counts the same way: one credit equals one tonne of CO₂e. Other gases such as methane are converted to CO₂-equivalent by their warming effect.
A registry issues the credit with a unique serial number. It can change hands many times, but it counts toward a climate claim only once its owner retires it.
Avoidance credits stop emissions that would otherwise happen, like solar replacing coal power. Removal credits pull CO₂ back out of the air, through forests, mangroves, soil or biochar.
Governments set targets for covered companies. Companies that beat their target earn credits, and those that miss it must buy and surrender credits.
Companies buy credits to meet their own climate goals, such as carbon-neutral products or net-zero targets, and report them in ESG disclosures.
The cut would not have happened without the money from credits.
The carbon stays out, with buffers for risks like forest fire.
An accredited third party checks it against an approved method.
A public registry tracks serial numbers so a tonne is never sold twice.
Documented benefits for people and nature, often mapped to the UN SDGs.
A standard sets the rules and methods. A registry tracks each credit from issuance to retirement. These are the programs Indian buyers and project owners use most.

Validation alone can take a year or more for a new project. CarbonCred manages the whole cycle for project owners. Sources: Verra VCS, BEE CCTS.
The Energy Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2022 let the Central Government set up a carbon credit trading scheme. It replaces the PAT energy-efficiency scheme step by step and supports India's target of cutting emission intensity 45% below 2005 levels by 2030.
Energy-intensive plants get a target for emissions per unit of output. Beat it and earn certificates; miss it and buy and surrender them by 31 July after the year ends.
Green: targets notified (Oct 2025 and Jan 2026). Grey: covered by the scheme, targets to follow.
Organisations without targets can register projects that reduce, remove or avoid emissions and earn certificates, using BEE-approved methodologies.
Green: phase I sectors. Grey: phase II.
Chaired by the Power Secretary, co-chaired by the Environment Secretary. Recommends rules, targets and issuance.
Runs the scheme: proposes targets, accredits verifiers, issues certificates and maintains the IT systems.
Registers entities, holds certificate accounts and records every transfer and surrender.
Approves exchange rules, oversees trading, and guards against fraud and manipulation.
Notifies GHG intensity targets under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
Accredited Carbon Verification Agencies validate projects and verify emissions and reductions.

Enter a year of fuel, electricity and travel. We estimate your Scope 1, 2 and business-travel emissions, the credits needed and their cost for the portfolio you pick.
Factors: CEA grid 0.727 kgCO₂/kWh (FY2023-24); diesel 2.68 and petrol 2.31 kgCO₂/L; LPG 2.98 kg/kg; natural gas 1.9 kg/m³; Indian coal about 1.6 t/t; flights about 0.15 and rail about 0.03 kgCO₂e per passenger-km. A screening estimate, not a verified inventory. Reduce first, then offset what remains.
Instead of betting on a single project, buy a blend across project types and standards. Every portfolio is drawn from projects that pass our quality screen, and you get the registry serial numbers for each tonne you retire.
Filter by project type, standard and state. Add projects to your enquiry and we'll confirm availability, vintages and a firm price within two working days.
Example listings to show the range CarbonCred sources. Indicative prices per tonne; final price depends on volume, vintage and availability. CCTS offset projects can be sold only after BEE issues their certificates.
Buyers face real reputational risk when a project turns out to be over-credited or reversed. We test every project against four risks before it enters a portfolio, and keep watching after you buy.
Would this have happened anyway? We check financial, regulatory and common-practice tests.
Is each credit really a tonne? We stress-test baselines, leakage and monitoring data.
Will the carbon stay out? We weigh reversal risk and the buffer pool behind removals.
Is the tonne claimed once? We check registry status and any host-country claims under Article 6.
A retirement certificate per purchase with registry serial numbers, a project fact sheet for each credit, and claim wording reviewed for BRSR and marketing use.
Indian companies now face carbon questions from regulators, lenders and export customers. Here is the process we take buyers through.
Calculate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in tCO₂e. You can't offset what you haven't measured.
Cut what you can, then decide what credits are for: carbon-neutral operations, a product line, or a net-zero year.
CCTS certificates for Indian compliance, CORSIA-eligible units for aviation, and Verra or Gold Standard for voluntary claims.
Work with developers or advisers who can show registry records for every credit, not aggregators with unclear sourcing.
Check additionality, permanence, the verifier, vintage and co-benefits. Read the project's monitoring report.
Retirement in the registry produces a serial-numbered record in your name. Claim nothing until it exists.
Disclose retired credits, with serial numbers, in your BRSR and other ESG reporting.
Voluntary credits have typically traded at a few US dollars to about USD 25 per tonne, depending on standard, project type and vintage. Nature-based removals usually cost more than renewable energy credits. CCC prices under the CCTS will be set in exchange sessions; market estimates range from ₹250 to ₹1,500, but none has traded yet.
Credits are sold per tonne, so there is no fixed minimum. Small orders are often served from existing inventory; large orders are priced per project and vintage. On CCTS exchanges, order sizes follow the exchange's rules.
No. Obligated entities can surrender only Carbon Credit Certificates issued by BEE in the Indian Carbon Market registry. Verra, Gold Standard and UCR credits support voluntary claims and ESG reporting only.
Retirement cancels the credit permanently in its registry, in your name and for a stated purpose. It can never be sold again, which is what lets you claim the tonne against your emissions.
Buying from existing inventory usually takes a few weeks, including due diligence, contracting, transfer and retirement. Developing a new project into credits takes longer, often more than a year, because of validation and the first monitoring period.
It depends on your operations. Companies with renewable energy, efficiency, waste or land projects may earn credits and sell the surplus. Companies with hard-to-cut emissions usually buy. Many do both. Our credit estimator above gives a first view.
Yes, if they are retired, recorded in a public registry and third-party verified. Report them separately from your measured emission reductions.
Every engagement runs on the same chain. Select a stage to see what we do and what it hands to the next.
Our tools connect billing data, meters and registries so a reduction can be counted once, verified once and sold once.
Our algorithm reads GST transaction data to estimate the carbon footprint of industries across every sector, so a state or buyer can see where emissions concentrate before a single audit.
A holder's live view of credits: vintage, validity, earmarks against obligations, and the cost of closing any gap, all matched to the Indian Carbon Market registry.
Market watch, order ticket, holdings and one-click retirement certificates for compliance buyers and voluntary offsetters alike.
IoT sensors, smart meters, SCADA and departmental feeds stream into dashboards that third-party verifiers can audit, so reductions become credits faster.
Indian soils can hold far more carbon than they do today. We measure it, track changes in practice, and turn the verified gains into credits or Scope 3 reductions, with farmers paid for the result.
Field boundaries, land-use history and crop records from satellite imagery and farmer registries.
Stratified soil sampling to depth, lab-tested for organic carbon and bulk density, with chain of custody kept.
Farmers adopt practices such as reduced tillage, residue retention, alternate wetting and drying, or agroforestry.
Remote sensing plus re-sampling, run through calibrated soil-carbon models to estimate change with stated uncertainty.
An accredited verifier audits the data, credits are issued, and revenue flows back to farmers and FPOs.
A new income stream from practices that also improve soil health and yields over time.
Measured reductions in your supply shed that count toward Scope 3 targets.
Registry-ready MRV data for agriculture projects under Verra, Gold Standard or the CCTS offset mechanism.
A first look at the credits your renewable generation or energy savings could represent. We firm this up with metered data and an approved methodology.
We help states draft their carbon credit policy, build a carbon inventory across departments, DISCOMs and urban bodies, and turn verified reductions into non-tax revenue.
Monitor → optimise → reduce → generate credits → trade → earn revenue → reinvest.
Measured reductions in greenhouse gases across power, cities, industry, transport and land.
Credit sales, climate finance and investment, plus skilled work in MRV, energy audit and ESG.
Audit-ready reporting that lenders, investors and regulators trust, and an early-mover position.
Cleaner cities and community participation in the revenue that local projects earn.

Our aim: make Indian states and companies leaders in the carbon economy, with a carbon ecosystem that is sustainable, profitable and built to last.
Carbon Cred Pvt Ltd is a New Delhi climate-finance consultancy and technology company. We work where policy, data and markets meet: designing state carbon frameworks, mapping emissions from transaction data, and building the registry and trading tools that make each credit traceable.
Tell us what you run, a state department, a plant, a fleet or a portfolio of projects, and we'll show you where its credits are.
